The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has completed its verification and analysis of a gratuity report filed by Forestry Minister Raja Juli Antoni regarding an envelope left by Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regent Suhardiman Ambyar. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated on Thursday (16/7/2026) that the analysis, conducted by the Directorate of Gratification and Public Services, was finished well within the 30-day deadline. However, he declined to disclose the specific outcome of the administrative review. The analysis was guided by Article 14 of KPK Regulation Number 1 of 2026, which stipulates that a gratuity report cannot be processed if it is suspected of being linked to a criminal act of corruption. Budi confirmed that the administrative review of the Minister’s report is now closed, but the enforcement division is continuing to investigate the matter to determine the motive and intent behind the handover of the money, particularly as it relates to an ongoing investigation into forest area release permits. The Minister had previously clarified that the envelope was left after an official, open-audience meeting on 2 June 2026. He stated that upon realising the envelope had been left behind, he immediately instructed his aide to return it, which was done at the Kuansing Police Station on 12 June 2026, seventeen days before the Regent was caught in a separate sting operation.
