The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has stated that the vice-rectors of Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) caught in a sting operation (OTT) were only Vice-Rector for Student Affairs Prof. Norman Arie Prayogo and Vice-Rector for General Affairs and Finance Prof. Kuat Puji Prayitno.

“Norman and Kuat,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told ANTARA in Jakarta on Friday.

Budi’s statement therefore corrects a previous report which stated that Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Noor Farid was caught in the OTT.

Previously, the KPK confirmed it had conducted an OTT against members of the Unsoed rectorate. One of those caught was Unsoed Rector Prof. Akhmad Sodiq.

The KPK revealed that the OTT was related to alleged receipt of money in the admission of new students.

In the OTT, the KPK seized hundreds of millions of rupiah and is intensively examining nine people in Jakarta.

The KPK has 1 x 24 hours to determine the status of those arrested in the OTT in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
