Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chairman Setyo Budiyanto has stressed that the agency has no plan yet to halt its investigation into alleged corruption linked to the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme at the National Nutrition Agency (BGN). “There is no administrative plan to stop the investigation,” Setyo said when contacted via written message on Thursday (18/6). The statement was issued to correct erroneous reports that had already circulated. Following a meeting with the House of Representatives on Wednesday (17/6), Setyo revealed there had been no further activity in tandem with the Attorney General’s Office’s exposure of an alleged corruption case in the MBG programme’s governance. “I think if coercive measures and the like have already been taken, we will certainly refrain from conducting further activities for the time being,” Setyo said at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Wednesday (17/6). “Because our stage is still at the preliminary investigation,” he continued. Earlier, on Monday evening, 8 June, Acting Director of Investigations at the KPK Achmad Taufik Husein stated that the KPK would hold a case review or expose. This step is also intended to determine the follow-up to findings already obtained during the preliminary investigation. “We will await the case review and whatever the leadership decides,” Taufik said on Monday (8/6).
