The book launch took place at the Ministry of Home Affairs office on Jalan Medan Merdeka Utara, Central Jakarta, on Monday (11/6/2026). KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto stated that a future without corruption can be realised by teaching it in classrooms, not in examination rooms.

“Instil that a future without corruption, the hope for today, tomorrow, and a future without corruption does not begin in the examination room, does not begin in the investigation room, let alone the courtroom. But let us all agree that yes, our future without corruption starts from the classroom,” said Setyo in his presentation.

Setyo demonstrated that the cost of handling corruption suspects and convicts is extremely high. Therefore, preventing corruption is better than prosecuting it.

“With the hope that if we give this (book) rather than the enforcement process upfront, it’s better to carry out the prevention process. Enforcement will definitely be more expensive from start to finish; even inside, they are still handled by the state, their food, clothes, uniforms, and so on,” said Setyo in his presentation.

He also hopes that this book can serve as a guide for children to recognise corrupt behaviour from an early age at the school level. Thus, when they grow up, they will have strong integrity and resist corruption.

“We can leave behind something, let’s consider this a sacred book, we consider this book made by fellow humans with all their shortcomings and limitations, but this is a guide or handbook for anti-corruption that we can give to our children, our grandchildren,” he explained.

On that occasion, Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Akhmad Wiyagus said that this book will be distributed through the respective regional heads. For that, he asked all regional heads to immediately prepare derivative regulations in the regions, whether in the form of regional head regulations or technical instructions, to encourage and ensure the implementation of anti-corruption education.

“By utilising the available anti-corruption education guides and teaching materials. Then second, integrating anti-corruption education into the school curriculum, both intra-curricularly and extra-curricularly, by reviewing anti-corruption education regulations in each region and making updates if necessary to ensure the implementation of anti-corruption education in all provinces, regencies, and cities throughout Indonesia,” said Wiyagus.

Furthermore, he mentioned that Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian has instructed all school education units through regional heads or Heads of Education Offices to report the results of anti-corruption education implementation. Reporting is done through the Corruption Eradication Commission’s platform.

“Then strengthening the role of the Regional Inspectorate to monitor and evaluate the implementation of this PAK by educational units,” he explained.
