KPK Chair Confirms Communication with Attorney General on Febrie Adriansyah Corruption Case

Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chairman Setyo Budiyanto has confirmed he has already communicated with the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) regarding the handling of the corruption case implicating former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah. “Yes, it has already begun,” Setyo told reporters at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday, 14 July 2026. Setyo also explained that he had discussed the handling of Febrie Adriansyah’s corruption case with Attorney General ST Burhanuddin. “We were seated next to each other earlier,” he revealed. According to Setyo, this discussion serves as proof of the AGO’s seriousness in thoroughly investigating the corruption case involving Febrie Adriansyah. “There has been some discussion from some time ago. This demonstrates the seriousness of the Attorney General’s Office in following up on this handling,” Setyo clarified.

It was previously reported that the AGO has taken a number of steps to ensure the handling of the alleged corruption and money laundering case involving Febrie Adriansyah proceeds without raising public doubt. In addition to forming a special investigation team, the Adhyaksa Corps also claims it will involve the KPK in a supervisory capacity throughout the investigation process. Head of the AGO’s Legal Information Centre, Anang Supriatna, affirmed that this commitment is made to maintain professionalism and transparency in handling the case, which has now been officially transferred from the Police’s Corruption Eradication Corps. “We will be professional and transparent; we will involve KPK supervision,” he stated. The AGO has prepared a specially selected investigation team to minimise potential conflicts of interest, as some investigators within Jampidsus previously served under Febrie’s leadership when he was their superior. “The point is that the Acting Jampidsus will appoint an investigation team within the AGO filled with specific individuals to minimise any conflict of interest,” he said.
