KPK Carries Out Another Sting Operation, This Time at BNPB

Jakarta — Indonesia’s Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) carried out a sting operation on Tuesday (13 October 2026). The anti-corruption agency was reported to have arrested an official from the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), along with several other parties.

KPK chairman Setyo Budiyanto confirmed the operation at BNPB.

“That is correct, there was an operation,” Setyo said when asked for confirmation.

Setyo did not disclose the identities of those arrested, the alleged offence behind the BNPB official’s arrest, or the evidence seized.

He said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo would provide full details of the operation.

“As for who was involved, the spokesperson will provide that information later,” he said.

According to reports, the KPK arrested a BNPB official and several people from the private sector. The anti-corruption agency has 24 hours to determine the legal status of those detained.
