KPK Calls in Finance Director of PT Wanatiara Persada He Yanbin as Witness

Jakarta — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has summoned He Yanbin (HY), Finance Director of PT Wanatiara Persada, as a witness in connection with allegations of bribery concerning tax inspections within the North Jakarta Medium-Level Tax Office (KPP Madya Jakut) for the 2021–2026 period.

“The examination is taking place at the KPK’s Red and White Building under the name of HY in his capacity as Finance Director of PT Wanatiara Persada,” KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists in Jakarta on Monday.

Additionally, Budi stated that the KPK has summoned FIR, a translator in the Finance Division of PT Wanatiara Persada, as a witness in the same case.

The KPK previously conducted its first sting operation (OTT) of 2026 on 9–10 January 2026, apprehending eight individuals.

On 9 January 2026, the KPK indicated that the sting operation was connected to allegations of tax manipulation in the mining sector.

On 11 January 2026, the KPK designated five individuals as suspects from the sting operation. These are: Head of KPP Madya Jakut Dwi Budi (DWB), Head of the Supervisory and Consultation Section of KPP Madya Jakut Agus Syaifudin (AGS), Appraiser at KPP Madya Jakut Askob Bahtiar (ASB), tax consultant Abdul Kadim Sahbudin (ABD), and PT Wanatiara Persada staff member Edy Yulianto (EY).

Edy Yulianto is alleged to have offered Rp4 billion in bribes to KPP Madya Jakut officials to reduce the liability for land and building tax (PBB) arrears for the 2023 tax year, with the amount allegedly reduced from approximately Rp75 billion to Rp15.7 billion.
