KPK Building Basement Catches Fire

A fire occurred in the battery room on the basement floor of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Red and White Building on Saturday (29/8/2026). A total of 14 personnel from the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service were deployed to extinguish the fire.

“We deployed three units or 14 personnel to put out the fire,” said Head of the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service Asril Rizal in Jakarta on Saturday.

According to him, his office received information about the building fire on Jalan Kuningan Persada, No. Kav 4, RT 01/RW 06, Guntur, Setiabudi District, at 11.25 WIB. South Jakarta firefighters then began operations to extinguish the fire at 11.32 WIB.

The cooling process then began at 11.34 WIB. “The current situation is that the fire has been extinguished and officers are continuing the process of removing smoke from the basement,” Asril said.

As of now, the suspected cause, chronology and casualties resulting from the fire are still being investigated by the relevant parties.
