KPK: Budiman Ordered Customs Officials to 'Clean Up' Safe House After Sting Operation
Jakarta – The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has revealed that Budiman Bayu Prasojo, Head of the Customs Intelligence Section for Enforcement and Investigation (P2) at the Directorate General of Customs (DJBC), ordered customs official Salisa Asmoaji to “clean up” a safe house in central Jakarta following a dawn raid operation (OTT) in early February 2026.
Deputy for Enforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu stated that Salisa transferred a sum of money from the safe house in central Jakarta to another safe house located in an apartment in the Ciputat area of Tangerang Selatan.
“Following that incident (the dawn raid), Budiman Bayu Prasojo then ordered Salisa Asmoaji to clean up the safe house that was in central Jakarta,” said Asep during a press conference at the Red and White Building in Jakarta on Friday (27 February 2026).
However, after being released by the KPK, Budiman apparently instructed Salisa to move a sum of money from the safe house that had not yet been seized by the commission.
“It turns out there were several items we had not yet discovered, which were hastily moved by Budiman Bayu Prasojo, who ordered Salisa Asmoaji to clean up, so to speak, clean the safe house in central Jakarta. Move it to another location – in this case, it was moved to a safe house in the Ciputat area,” explained Asep.
“Where investigators found cash in various foreign currencies and rupiah totalling more than Rp 5.19 billion, stored in five suitcases,” added Asep.
Based on these facts, investigators concluded that Budiman and Sisprian, as Deputy Head of Intelligence P2 at DJBC, who were previously designated as suspects, jointly committed corruption offences involving the receipt of gratuities as state officials or government administrators.
“Including receiving payments directly related to their positions and contrary to their obligations during the period 2024–2026,” said Asep.
Budiman Bayu is alleged to have violated Article 12B of Law No. 31 of 1999 as amended by Law No. 20 of 2001, and Article 20(c) of Law No. 1 of 2023 concerning the Criminal Code (KUHP).
The KPK arrested Budiman Bayu at DJBC headquarters on Thursday (26 February 2026) and immediately detained him.
“Detention has been carried out at the State Detention Centre (Rutan) Branch of the Red and White Building KPK,” said Asep.
