The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) brought 13 of 27 individuals detained during a coercive arrest operation (OTT) of Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman to the KPK headquarters in Jakarta on Saturday.

“Of the 27 people detained at the location, 13 of them were brought to Jakarta,” said KPK Spokesman Budi Prasetyo.

The team departed from Cilacap, Central Java, on Friday, 13 March, and arrived at the Red and White KPK headquarters at approximately 02:35 WIB on Saturday morning.

Budi stated that the 13 individuals brought to Jakarta include the Cilacap Regent, the Regional Secretary, and various officials from the Cilacap Local Government.

The individuals were brought to Jakarta for further investigation regarding allegations of corruption, including to determine their formal suspect status.

The KPK has 1 × 24 hours to determine the status of those arrested during the coercive arrest operation, including the Cilacap Regent, who is a regional head in Central Java Province, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).

“Currently, intensive questioning is being conducted,” he said.

Previously, the KPK seized cash during the coercive arrest operation that apprehended Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman and 26 others.

“Evidence secured during this arrest operation includes cash,” said KPK Spokesman Budi Prasetyo at KPK headquarters in Jakarta on Friday.

Budi further stated that the money seized by the KPK was in Indonesian rupiah. However, he was unable to provide further details as it was still being counted.

“We will provide an update on the amount later. This is still in process,” he said.
