The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has prohibited the use of state or local government facilities for Eid holiday travel and family trips unrelated to official duties. The prohibition is outlined in KPK Circular Letter Number 2 of 2026 on the Prevention and Control of Gratification Related to Religious Holidays.

The circular prohibits the use of official facilities for personal purposes, including state or locally-owned vehicles or vehicles hired for ministerial, agency or local government operational needs.

“Official vehicles are not permitted to be used for personal purposes, such as holiday travel, family trips or other activities outside the performance of official duties,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo on Friday, 13 March 2026.

According to Budi, the prohibition is particularly important given that official vehicles are state facilities provided to support the performance of duties and public service. Therefore, the use of official vehicles must align with their designated purpose and must not be exploited for personal interests.

“The use of official vehicles outside official purposes not only reflects misuse of state facilities, but also potentially creates conflicts of interest and undermines the principle of accountability in the management of state assets,” he said.

The KPK has urged the leaders of ministries, agencies, local governments, state-owned enterprises and other state institutions to take proactive steps in internal control, including monitoring the use of official facilities during the Eid holiday period.

“The KPK reminds that strengthening internal oversight and compliance with regulations on the use of state facilities is an important part of efforts to maintain public trust and ensure clean and integrity-based governance,” he stressed.

Additionally, Budi stated that the KPK facilitates complaints regarding gratification and corruption prevention which can be accessed through the website https://jaga.id, and consultation services through WhatsApp instant messaging application +62811145575, or by contacting the KPK’s public information service at telephone number 198.

“Reports of receiving or rejecting gratification can also be submitted to the KPK through the online gratification reporting application (GOL) at https://gol.kpk.go.id or by email at pelaporan.gratifikasi@kpk.go.id,” he said.
