KPK Aware Bupati Kuansing Was Picked Up by Several Parties During Sting Operation

The Corruption Eradasting Commission (KPK) admits to knowing that several parties picked up the Regent of Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing), Suhardiman Amby, while the anti-corruption agency was searching for his whereabouts during a sting operation (OTT).

“There is information regarding the parties who picked him up. This was also known by the team, but at that time, we were focused on locating SA and ZKN (Kuansing Regional Secretary Zulkarnain),” said the Acting Director of Investigations at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, at the KPK Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, on Wednesday.

He explained that the KPK team first traced the whereabouts of Suhardiman and Zulkarnain at the official residence and several offices of the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government. However, the team could not find the two individuals and suspected they had already left the Kuantan Singingi Regency area.

Previously, the KPK conducted a sting operation in Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau, and Jakarta on 29 June 2026, securing ten individuals. This operation marked the 14th sting operation conducted by the KPK throughout 2026.

Of the ten individuals detained, five were taken to the KPK Merah Putih Building for intensive interrogation. These include three private sector representatives, one civil servant from the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, and the wife of Suhardiman, Suci Nitia Edwar.

On 1 July 2026, the KPK named Suhardiman Amby, Zulkarnain, and the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant, Ardiles, as suspects in a case involving alleged bribery related to the trading of official positions within the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government. In addition to the bribery allegations, the KPK also suspects Suhardiman received gratifications related to the processing of the release of limited production forest areas (HPT).
