KPK Aware Bupati Kuansing Was Picked Up by Several Parties During Sting Operation

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has admitted it knew that several parties picked up Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing) Regent Suhardiman Amby while the anti-graft agency was searching for him during a sting operation (OTT). “There was information about the party that picked him up. The team was also aware of this, but at that time we were focused on finding the whereabouts of SA and ZKN (Kuansing Regional Secretary Zulkarnain),” said Acting Director of Investigation at the KPK, Achmad Taufik Husein, at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Wednesday. He explained that the KPK team first tracked the whereabouts of Suhardiman and Zulkarnain at the official residence and several offices of the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government. However, the team did not find either of them and suspected they had left the Kuantan Singingi Regency area. Previously, the KPK conducted a sting operation in Kuantan Singingi Regency, Riau, and Jakarta on 29 June 2026, securing 10 individuals. The operation was the 14th sting operation carried out by the KPK throughout 2026. Of the 10 people detained, five were taken to the KPK’s Merah Putih Building for intensive examination. They consisted of three private parties, a civil servant from the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government, and Suhardiman’s wife, Suci Nitia Edwar. On 1 July 2026, the KPK named Suhardiman Amby, Zulkarnain, and the President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant, Ardiles, as suspects in a case of alleged bribery related to the buying and selling of positions within the Kuantan Singingi Regency Government. In addition to the alleged bribery, the KPK also suspects Suhardiman received gratuities related to the management of the release of limited production forest areas (HPT).
