KPK Awaits State Loss Calculation in Mempawah Corruption Case

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the investigation into the alleged corruption case involving the Sebukit Rama–Sederam road improvement project in Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan, is still ongoing.

At present, investigators are awaiting the results of the calculation of state financial losses as part of the evidentiary process of the case.

KPK Spokesperson, Budi Prasetyo, stated that the calculation of state losses is currently being conducted by state auditors, meaning the investigation has not yet entered the next phase.

“It is still in progress. Currently, the calculation of state financial losses is being carried out by state auditors,” he told reporters on Thursday, 2 July 2026.

This statement serves to address various speculations regarding the continuation of the case handling.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director of the Study of People’s Democracy (SDR), Hari Purwanto, also assessed that the investigation needs to be strengthened through the tracing of fund flows, involving the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) if necessary.

“Tracing fund flows is a vital part of uncovering corruption crimes. Therefore, the KPK needs to consider cooperation with the PPATK to ensure that all transactions related to this case can be thoroughly traced,” said Hari.
