KPK Awaits State Loss Calculation in Mempawah Corruption Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has confirmed that the investigation into the alleged corruption case concerning the Sebukit Rama–Sederam road improvement project in Mempawah Regency, West Kalimantan, is still ongoing. Currently, investigators are awaiting the results of the state financial loss calculation as part of the case’s evidentiary process. KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the state loss calculation is still being conducted by state auditors, meaning the investigation has not yet progressed to the next stage. “It is still in process. The state financial loss calculation is currently being carried out by state auditors,” he told reporters on Thursday, 2 July 2026. The statement also addressed various speculations regarding the continuation of the case’s handling. Meanwhile, Hari Purwanto, Executive Director of Studi Demokrasi Rakyat (SDR), assessed that the investigation needs to be strengthened by tracing fund flows, involving the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) if necessary. “Tracing fund flows is an important part of uncovering criminal acts of corruption. Therefore, the KPK needs to consider cooperation with PPATK to ensure all transactions related to this case can be thoroughly traced,” Hari said.
