KPK Auction: iPhone XS with Rp231,000 Limit Sells for Rp34 Million, Data Wiped Clean
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has assured that an iPhone XS, which was auctioned with a limit price of Rp231,000 and sold for Rp34 million, had all its data completely wiped. The data deletion process was akin to a factory reset.
“Before the auction was conducted, we cooperated with the KPK’s Electronic Evidence Laboratory to carry out a data deletion mechanism first, so the phone being auctioned had its data emptied beforehand, similar to a factory reset,” said Mungki Hadipratikto, Director of Asset Tracking, Evidence Management, and Execution (Labuksi) at the KPK, when contacted on Monday (22/6/2026).
Mungki stated that the auction winner has a five-day deadline to complete the payment. The handphone was seized from Nurwidihartana, one of the convicts in the bribery case involving former Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti. “The deadline for paying the auction fee is five working days from being determined as the auction winner, or 25 June 2026,” he said.
The auction results were announced via the KPK’s official auction Instagram account, as seen by detikcom on Sunday (21/6). The iPhone XS, pictured with a black protective case, sold for Rp34,181,000, more than 100 times its limit price. “This HP sold for Rp34 million. The limit value was Rp231,000,” the post stated.
The item was sold during the June 2026 auction period. Several other items were also successfully auctioned by the KPK, including:

A La Marzocco coffee machine with a limit price of Rp77,600,000, sold for Rp105,600,000.
A Pondok Indah Residences apartment covering 149 m2 with a limit price of Rp6,445,444,000, sold for Rp6,625,444,000.
An excavator with a limit price of Rp58,800,000, sold for Rp320,800,000.
A 2021 Honda Beat motorcycle with a limit price of Rp7,291,000, sold for Rp12,291,000.
Land and building in Banjarnegara covering 189 m2 with a limit price of Rp353,020,000, sold for Rp400,020,000.
An iPhone 13 Pro Max 1 TB with a limit price of Rp5,826,000, sold for Rp17,826,000.
A 2022 Daihatsu Gran Max van with a limit price of Rp98,454,000, sold for Rp128,454,000.
A vibro roller with a limit price of Rp54,945,000, sold for Rp161,945,000.
A Hino dump truck with a limit price of Rp135,943,000, sold for Rp275,943,000.
