KPK Asserts Muara Enim Audit Bribery Case Will Not Disrupt Cooperation with BPK

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has emphasised that the handling of an alleged bribery case concerning the audit results of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) in the Muara Enim Regency Government, South Sumatra, will not affect the institutional relationship between the KPK and BPK. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that the case currently under investigation involves alleged criminal acts by individuals, and therefore will not disrupt the synergy that has been established between the two institutions. “It does not disrupt the good cooperation that has been established between the KPK and BPK,” Budi said on Thursday, 16 July 2026. According to Budi, the KPK and BPK have maintained close coordination, particularly in the process of calculating state financial losses in corruption cases. In addition to working with BPK, the KPK also collaborates with the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) to support the investigation process. “We conduct intensive institutional communication and coordination, because currently many cases, especially in the process of calculating state losses, are handled in cooperation with BPK,” he said. Amid the investigation, the KPK summoned BPK Member V Bobby Adhityo Rizaldi to provide testimony as a witness on Thursday, 16 July 2026. The examination aims to complete the construction of the alleged bribery case related to the audit results of several procurements in Muara Enim Regency. “It is true, today investigators scheduled an examination of witness BB, who serves as a Member of BPK RI,” Budi stated. In this case, investigators are looking into the alleged alteration of audit results from a Qualified Opinion (WDP) to an Unqualified Opinion (WTP). Budi explained that witness statements are needed to clarify the sequence of events and to strengthen the evidence against the named suspects. “Therefore, investigators require witness statements to complete the construction of the case so it becomes whole, including to strengthen the evidence against the parties who have been named as suspects,” he said. In addition to Bobby, the KPK also summoned several other BPK officials, namely Tuning Rahayu, an expert staff member to BPK Member V; Widhi Widayat, Director General of State Financial Audit V at BPK; Ahdony Asfiansyah, Head of Sub-Directorate of Audit I.C.2 at BPK; and Wahyu Tri Handoko, Head of the AKN V Secretariat at BPK.
