KPK Arrests Unsoed Rector in Sting Operation

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) conducted a sting operation in Purwokerto today. One of those arrested by the KPK was the rector of Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed), Purwokerto, Akhmad Sodiq. “One of the parties detained is the Rector of UNSOED,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo on Friday (21/8/2026). Budi stated that the Unsoed rector is implicated in a corruption case. A total of 14 people were detained by the KPK, including the Unsoed rector. “In this incident, the team detained fourteen people, namely twelve people in the Purwokerto area and two people in Jakarta, on Thursday (20/8),” he continued. Those detained in the KPK sting operation remain under examination. The KPK has 1x24 hours to determine the legal status of those caught in the operation.
