KPK Arrests Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari in Bengkulu Province during a raid operation on the night of Monday, 9 March 2026 on suspicion of corruption. The raid was confirmed by KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Nurcahyanto when contacted on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
In the raid operation, the KPK team not only secured Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari. Several parties related to the case were also detained. However, the identities of those detained — aside from the Rejang Lebong Regent — have not yet been announced.
The KPK will transport the Rejang Lebong Regent and other individuals caught in the raid to Jakarta on Tuesday morning for further questioning. The KPK has 24 hours to determine the formal status of the regional head in Bengkulu Province who was arrested in the raid, in accordance with the Indonesian Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
