KPK Arrests Rejang Lebong Regent in Corruption Sting Operation
The Indonesian Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has launched a sting operation (OTT) against Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari. This marks the second sting operation conducted in Ramadan 2026.
“That is correct, the Rejang Lebong Regent,” confirmed KPK Deputy Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto when approached for comment on Tuesday (10 March 2026), as reported by Antara.
The KPK has 24 hours to determine the status of the regional head in Bengkulu, in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).
Fitroh has not yet disclosed which parties were arrested in this operation or the specific corruption allegations involved.
This follows the KPK’s first sting operation of 2026, which resulted in the arrest of eight individuals on 9-10 January 2026. That operation concerned alleged bribery in tax audits within the Jakarta North Medium Tax Service Office of the Directorate General of Taxes under the Ministry of Finance, covering the period 2021-2026.
