KPK Arrests Rejang Lebong Regent and Seals Regional Government Offices
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) sealed numerous offices at the Rejang Lebong Regency Government headquarters in Bengkulu following the arrest of Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari during an Operation Catch Red-Handed (OTT) on Monday 9 March in the evening.
KPK Vice-Chairman Fitroh Rohcahyanto confirmed the arrest of Thobari in a written statement to CNNIndonesia.com on Tuesday 10 March, though he provided limited details regarding the sealing of the offices.
In the covert operation, KPK enforcement teams reportedly arrested several other individuals alongside the regent. However, the full identities of these individuals remain unknown.
According to available information, those arrested in the operation are expected to be transported to Jakarta on that day for further proceedings.
