KPK Arrests Regent and Vice Regent of Rejang Lebong in Anti-Corruption Sting Operation
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari of Rejang Lebong in a sting operation. Vice Regent Hendri has also been apprehended in the same operation.
KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that Muhammad Fikri Thobari and Hendri have been flown to Jakarta for further investigation. They travelled to Jakarta alongside six other individuals.
“One regent, then the vice regent. And also, three other persons from civil servants in the Rejang Lebong Regency area. Then, four other persons are from the private sector,” Budi told journalists on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.
Budi reported that a total of 13 individuals have been secured in the sting operation. They had previously undergone preliminary questioning at Kepahyang Police Station and Bengkulu Metropolitan Police Station.
“The team secured a total of 13 individuals who then underwent preliminary questioning at Kepahyang Police Station and also at Bengkulu Metropolitan Police Station,” he said.
Budi stated that the sting operation is connected to infrastructure projects within the Rejang Lebong Regency government. However, he was unable to provide further details regarding the financial value involved.
“We will provide updates regarding the projects from which departments, the values involved, and so on. We will release that information later,” Budi explained.
