KPK Arrests Other Parties Besides Unsoed Vice Rector
Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Chairman Setyo Budiyanto said there are other parties besides the Vice Rector of Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) currently being investigated by investigators in connection with the sting operation (OTT) carried out on Thursday (20/8).
“It is not only the Vice Rector; there are other individuals being investigated by investigators,” Setyo told CNNIndonesia.com via written message on Friday (21/8).
Setyo could not yet provide much information about the activity, as investigators were still working until this morning.
Meanwhile, a CNNIndonesia.com source within the KPK who is aware of the sting operation said at least five people were caught in the operation. Two of them are Vice Rector I, identified as NF, and Vice Rector III for Student Affairs and Alumni, identified as NAP.
The other parties are AW and M, who are third parties, as well as one staff member of the vice rector.
“It is related to the independent admission pathway for the medical faculty,” the source said when confirming the case being investigated on Thursday (20/8) evening.
As of the writing of this report, the KPK has not provided an official statement.
Meanwhile, as reported by detik.com, the KPK brought at least five people to Jakarta after conducting examinations at the Criminal Investigation Unit building of the Banyumas Police Headquarters.
One of them is the Vice Rector III for Student Affairs and Alumni of Unsoed, Professor Norman Arie Prayoga.
The KPK team left the Banyumas Police Criminal Investigation Unit building at 10.45 p.m. Western Indonesia Time. They carried several bags believed to contain documents.
At almost the same time, the KPK also carried out a sting operation in Bogor Regency, West Java. Several heads of agencies were caught in the silent operation.
However, details regarding the sting operation have also not been officially conveyed by the KPK.
