KPK Arrests Five BPK Civil Servants Over Smart Board Procurement Bribes in Muara Enim
A total of five civil servants (ASN) from the Audit Board of Indonesia (BPK) were caught in a sting operation by the KPK, as part of the ongoing investigation into the case involving the Regent of Muara Enim, Edison. The KPK stated that this operation is related to the procurement of a smart board project in Muara Enim.
“So far, it is related to covering up BPK findings regarding procurements within the Muara Enim Regency Government, one of which is the procurement of smart TVs,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih building, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (10/06/2026).
This sting operation is a continuation of the operation conducted against the Regent of Muara Enim, Edison. The KPK explained that there was bribery provided by the Muara Enim Regency Government to parties within the BPK.
“The KPK has conducted a follow-up sting operation regarding that case, where this current operation relates to the alleged provision of bribes from the Muara Enim Regency Government to parties within the Audit Board of Indonesia,” he said.
In the case of the Muara Enim Regent’s arrest, 11 people have been detained. Six individuals were apprehended in the first cluster of the operation, and five BPK civil servants were caught in the second cluster.
“So, the total number of individuals detained is 11. Six people were also detained in yesterday’s sting operation, and five others are new parties apprehended in this latest operation. These five individuals are civil servants from the Audit Board of Indonesia,” he explained.
The KPK has not yet detailed the identities of the BPK civil servants caught in the sting. The commission has 24 hours to determine their legal status.
In this case, the KPK has detained four individuals after they were named suspects. In addition to the Regent of Muara Enim, Edison, three other parties have been named suspects and detained, namely:
Secretary of the Department of Education and Culture 2026 - Abi Nurwardani.
The Regent’s nephew - Adi Triyadi.
Marketing representative of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi - Cory Erin Hardi.
The KPK suspects Edison, Abi, and Adi under Article 12 letter a and/or Article 12 letter b and/or Article 12B of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes.
As for Cory, representing the private sector, the charges involve Article 605 letter a and/or Article 605 letter b of Law Number 1 of 2026.
The KPK has proceeded with the detention of the suspects for the initial 20-day period, from 9 to 28 June 2026. The detention is being carried out at the State Detention Centre (Rutan) at the KPK Merah Putih Building.
