Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) disclosed that the arrest of Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq (FAR) occurred at a public electric vehicle charging station (SPKLU) in the Semarang area, Central Java, even though the investigators briefly lost track of her.

Deputy for Enforcement and Execution at the KPK, Asep Guntur Rahayu, explained that the agency’s anti-corruption team initially conducted a sting operation in Pekalongan Regency, Central Java.

“After leaving Pekalongan, some members of the team moved to Semarang, and they almost lost the person,” Asep said at the Red and White Building (Gedung Merah Putih) of the KPK in Jakarta, on Wednesday.

Fortunately, he said, the KPK team later found Fadia Arafiq at an SPKLU on Tuesday (3/3) in the early hours.

“When they reached Semarang, it was as if there was some luck. When we searched, it turned out the electric car was being charged. There, at (SPKLU) they found her,” he said.

Earlier, on 3 March 2026, the KPK announced a series of sting operations during Ramadan, which also marked the seventh OTT of the year.

The KPK said it arrested Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq together with her aide and confidants in the Semarang area, Central Java.

Subsequently the KPK announced the arrest of 11 other people from Pekalongan, Central Java.

On 4 March 2026, the KPK named Fadia Arafiq as the sole suspect in a case of alleged corruption related to the procurement of outsourcing services or manpower outsourcing, and other procurements within the Pekalongan Regency government for the 2023-2026 fiscal year.
