KPK Arrests Dozens Including West Jakarta Immigration Head

The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested dozens of individuals in connection with a sting operation involving immigration officials in West Jakarta, occurring between the night of 2 June and 3 June 2026. Among those caught red-handed is the Head of West Jakarta Immigration.

“One of them is [the Head of Immigration],” stated KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Wednesday (3/6).

Budi noted that KPK enforcement teams are still operating in West Java and Bali to apprehend other involved parties. “Since last night, the team has been conducting field activities in West Jakarta, and as the situation develops, the team is also currently moving through areas in Bali and West Java,” Budi said. He added that over a dozen people have been detained as part of this series of sting operations.

During the covert operation, the KPK enforcement team also seized several pieces of evidence suspected to be related to the case. “There are vehicles, cars, motorcycles, and evidence in the form of cash, foreign currency including USD and SGD, as well as gold bullion,” Budi stated.

The sting operation is reportedly related to the processing of permits for foreign nationals to reside in Indonesia. “As we know, for a foreign national to reside in Indonesia, there is the KITAP (Permanent Stay Permit) and also the KITAS (Limited Stay Permit),” he added.

Budi was unable to provide further details as the enforcement team remains active in the field. “We will continue to provide updates on the developments, including the evidence secured. We will provide a detailed update regarding the quantities later,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, some of those caught in the operation have already arrived at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in South Jakarta. According to gathered information, in addition to the suspects, the KPK will also transport seized evidence, such as motor vehicles, to the Dwiwarna Building.
