KPK Arrests 27 People in Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Sting Operation

Jakarta — The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested 27 people, including Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman, in a sting operation (OTT) in Cilacap, Central Java, on Friday, 13 March 2026.

“Today the team secured a total of 27 people, one of whom is the Cilacap Regent,” said KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the Red and White Building in Jakarta on Friday.

Prasetyo stated that Syamsul Auliya is currently undergoing intensive interrogation before being brought to Jakarta.

The tangible evidence secured in this covert operation consisted of cash, although the amount has not yet been disclosed.

“In relation to the closed investigation activities today in the Cilacap region, there is suspected receipt of funds by the regent in connection with projects in Cilacap Regency,” he said.

The KPK has 24 hours to determine the legal status of those arrested in this sting operation.
