The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has carried out a sting operation (OTT) in Kuantan Singingi (Kuansing), Riau Province, related to an alleged position-trading scheme within the local government. KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo confirmed the operation, stating, “This case is suspected to be related to bribery involving the buying and selling of positions in the Kuantan Singingi Regency administration.”

A total of 10 individuals were arrested during the operation. Budi stated that five of them were subsequently taken to Jakarta for intensive examination at the KPK’s Merah Putih building. The five individuals consist of three private sector parties, one civil servant (ASN) from the Kuansing Regency, and a family member of a Kuansing Regency civil servant.

Meanwhile, the KPK is still searching for the Regent and the Regional Secretary of Kuansing. The anti-graft body has requested that both individuals be cooperative.
