The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested 10 individuals in a sting operation (OTT) conducted in Kuantan Singingi Regency (Kuansing), Riau. The operation, which took place on Monday, 29 June 2026, is suspected to be connected to bribery practices within the job auction process in the Kuansing Regency Government.

KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that of the 10 people detained, nine were arrested in the Kuantan Singingi area, while one other person was detained in Jakarta. “In this sting operation, the investigation team detained a total of ten people. Nine of them were detained in the Kuantan Singingi area and one other person was detained in the Jakarta area,” Budi said during a press conference at the KPK’s Merah Putih Building in Jakarta on Tuesday, 30 June 2026.

From the 10 individuals detained, the KPK brought five people to Jakarta for further examination. Budi explained that the five individuals consist of three private parties, one state civil apparatus (ASN) in Kuantan Singingi Regency, and one person who is a family member of an ASN. The intensive examination is being conducted to investigate the alleged criminal act of corruption that was the object of the sting operation. Meanwhile, the other parties are still undergoing the examination process according to the needs of the investigation.

In addition to detaining several people, KPK investigators also seized evidence suspected to be related to the case. The evidence includes electronic devices containing records of financial transactions. Investigators also seized a four-wheeled vehicle suspected of being used as a means to facilitate the bribery offence currently under investigation. The seizure will form part of the evidence in the ongoing investigation process.

According to Budi, the sting operation in Kuantan Singingi was carried out after the KPK suspected the existence of bribery practices in the job trading process within the Kuansing Regency Government. However, the KPK has not yet revealed in detail the construction of the case or the parties suspected of acting as the giver and receiver of the bribe.
