KPK Apprehends 27 Individuals in Cilacap Regent Sting Operation

The Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) apprehended a total of 27 individuals in a sting operation (OTT) in Cilacap, Central Java. One of those detained is Cilacap Regent Syamsul Auliya Rachman.

“Today our team apprehended a total of 27 individuals, one of whom is the Cilacap Regent,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists at KPK headquarters in South Jakarta on Friday (13 March 2026).

Budi stated that the 27 apprehended individuals comprise both government officials and private sector representatives. He noted that all those detained are currently undergoing intensive interrogation.

“From government officials and civil servants, and there may also be several from the private sector, and intensive interrogation is currently being conducted there. As far as we have received information, (the Deputy Regent) is not among those apprehended,” said Budi.

The KPK has a 24-hour window to determine the legal status of those apprehended in the sting operation. Currently, those detained remain under investigation status.
