Jakarta (ANTARA) - KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated that Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian Ombudsman Rahmadi Indra Tektona, along with several members, met with the leadership of the anti-corruption agency at the KPK’s Red White Building to discuss opportunities for collaboration in preventing corruption.

“In that meeting, the KPK and the Ombudsman discussed opportunities for collaboration,” Budi told journalists in Jakarta on Tuesday.

In particular, he said, the public services sector is one of the sectors vulnerable to corruption.

“By improving the quality of public services, it can limit transactional spaces that have the potential to cause corruption in this sector, such as gratification or bribes,” he said.

He stated that the collaboration is planned to involve the exchange of data and information, as well as the implementation of joint programmes between the KPK and the Indonesian Ombudsman.

“Thus, corruption prevention as well as improvements in public service quality can be more accelerated and provide real benefits to the public,” he said.

Previously, representatives of the Ombudsman’s leadership arrived at the KPK’s Red White Building around 13:55 WIB.

Then, at 15:10 WIB, they left the building without providing explanations regarding the discussion between the two institutions.
