The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has also detained the nephew of Muara Enim Regent Edison, named Adi Triadi, during a sting operation related to a procurement case. Regent Edison’s nephew has also been named a suspect. “It is true that he is a relative (nephew) of the Regent,” KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo told journalists on Tuesday (9/6/2026). The four parties named as suspects in this case are: 1. Muara Enim Regent – Edison; 2. Secretary of the Education and Culture Office for 2026 – Abi Nurwardani; 3. Regent’s nephew – Adi Triyadi; 4. Marketing representative of PT Millenium Solusi Abadi – Cory Erin Hardi. Budi has not yet detailed the specifics of the case or the roles of each suspect. He stated that the construction of the case would be delivered via a press conference this afternoon. “Later we will fully convey the construction of this case, the parties named as suspects, and those subsequently detained. We will deliver this comprehensively in a press conference this afternoon,” Budi stated. It is known that the KPK sting operation in Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra, was conducted on Sunday evening (7/6). As a result, the KPK named the Muara Enim Regent as a suspect in a bribery case related to procurement projects at the Muara Enim Regency Education and Culture Office. “Correct, one of them is the Regent,” explained KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists at the KPK’s Merah Putih building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (9/6). Besides Regent Edison, three other parties were also named as suspects. However, Budi has not yet detailed the identities of those suspects. He only conveyed that the three suspects consist of state officials and private sector representatives. “Of the four parties named as suspects, there are those from the state officials and also from the private sector,” Budi revealed. The KPK seized a total of IDR 2 billion in cash from the sting operation in Muara Enim Regency, which ensnared Regent Edison as a suspect. The cash evidence seized consists of rupiah, riyal, and dollars. “The team also secured evidence including cash in rupiah, dollars, and riyal,” Budi said. In addition to securing cash, investigators also seized balances in bank accounts. The account balances are suspected to be related to receipts obtained by the Regent. “And there are also several account balances. Because several of these accounts are suspected of being used as repositories related to the alleged receipt by unscrupulous individuals in the Muara Enim Regency Government from private parties, therefore the balances in these accounts were secured,” he stated. “The total secured by the team in this series of sting operation events is nearly IDR 2 billion,” he added.
