Jakarta – Indonesia’s Anti-Corruption Commission (KPK) has apprehended Deputy Regent Hendri of Rejang Lebong in a sting operation (OTT) related to Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari.

“Yes, he was one of those also secured,” stated KPK Spokesman Budi Prasetyo at the KPK Red and White Building in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Budi further stated that both the Regent and Deputy Regent of Rejang Lebong have arrived at the KPK Red and White Building for questioning.

The KPK has 24 hours to determine the status of those arrested in the sting operation in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP).

Previously, the KPK conducted its first sting operation in 2026, arresting eight individuals during 9-10 January 2026. This arrest concerned alleged bribery in tax inspections within the North Jakarta Intermediate Tax Office of the Ministry of Finance’s Directorate General of Taxation for the 2021-2026 period.

On 4 February 2026, the KPK announced a fifth sting operation related to counterfeit goods imports. One of those arrested was former Director of Enforcement and Investigation at the Directorate General of Customs and Excise of the Ministry of Finance, Rizal, who was serving as Head of the West Sumatra Customs Regional Office.

The sixth sting operation was revealed on 5 February 2026, concerning alleged corruption in land dispute management covering 6,500 square metres within Depok District Court, West Java. The KPK designated Depok District Court I Chair I Wayan Eka Mariarta, Depok District Court Deputy Chair Bambang Setyawan, and Managing Director of PT Karabha Digdaya, a Ministry of Finance subsidiary, as suspects.

The seventh sting operation was announced on 3 March 2026, during Ramadan. The KPK designated Pekalongan Regent Fadia Arafiq as the sole suspect in an alleged corruption case concerning procurement of outsourcing services or labour assignment and other procurement within Pekalongan Regency Government for the 2023-2026 fiscal year.

The eighth sting operation also occurred during Ramadan. On 10 March 2026, the KPK announced the arrest of Rejang Lebong Regent Muhammad Fikri Thobari.
