The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is providing an opportunity for the families of 81 detainees in suspected corruption cases to meet during Eid 1447 Hijriah/2026 CE, or on 21 March 2026.

“KPK is giving the detainees the chance to meet and have direct face-to-face interactions with their families and relatives from 10:00 to 13:00 WIB,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo to journalists in Jakarta on Friday.

Budi explained that the family visitation service is a manifestation of KPK’s commitment to upholding the principles of human rights.

Meanwhile, he stated that the service is not limited to providing a meeting space between detainees and their families, but also has a humanitarian and spiritual dimension.

“The presence of family is expected to provide moral and emotional support while strengthening religious values that are an important part of the detainees’ self-reflection process,” he said.

Therefore, he added that the visitation service will be conducted in an orderly, measured manner, while prioritising security aspects and applicable regulations.

“In this way, KPK affirms that the law enforcement process it carries out does not neglect humanitarian values, but runs in tandem with respect for the basic rights of every individual,” he stated.

Currently, there are 81 KPK detainees, consisting of 41 people from the KPK State Detention Centre Branch at the Red and White Building and 40 people from the KPK Detention Centre at the Anti-Corruption Education Centre Building. Of the total, 67 are Muslim.
