KPK Advises Finance Minister Purbaya to Consult Regarding Gifts Received During TikTok Live Session with His Child

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has advised Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa to consult with the KPK regarding gifts received from viewers during a live broadcast on his child’s TikTok account.

Although, based on the broadcast, the gifts appeared to be intended for his child and not related to the performance of his duties or his position as a state official.

“However, if in doubt, it can also be consulted or reported. Moreover, reporting gratifications is very easy, it can be done online through gol.kpk.go.id or through the gratification management unit (UPG) at the Ministry of Finance, or by reporting directly to the KPK,” said Budi at the Merah Putih Building, Jakarta, Thursday (February 26, 2026).

“We certainly appreciate the Minister, who is aware and cautious about the potential for gratifications,” said Budi.

As widely discussed on social media, Finance Minister Purbaya and his child held a live broadcast on TikTok.

Purbaya expressed concern that the gifts could potentially be classified as gratifications.

“Oh, don’t give too much, I’m afraid it will be considered gratification,” said Purbaya during the broadcast.
