KPK Advises BGN: Ensure Free Nutritious Meals Programme is Better Targeted

Jakarta – The Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Agustina Arumsari, stated that the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has advised that the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme be better targeted. This was conveyed by the KPK leadership during an audience with BGN officials to discuss the results of a review concerning the MBG programme on Tuesday, 7 July 2026. “We, as the current leadership of BGN, want the agency to improve going forward and the MBG programme to be better. It was also in line with the message from the KPK leadership to make it more targeted,” Agustina told reporters, quoted on Wednesday, 8 July 2026. She added that the KPK also advised that the programme’s beneficiaries be more focused. “There were several notes and messages from the leadership to make the beneficiaries more focused and so on. I have noted them down, and we will follow up further,” she said. Agustina assured that all improvements required of the BGN will be fully monitored by the KPK’s Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring. Furthermore, the BGN has established a team to follow up on the improvement recommendations aimed at preventing corruption submitted by the KPK. “We certainly believe that the KPK will not just be satisfied with the documents we submitted. They want to see concretely what we will do later, not just what is written, but what we will actually carry out,” Agustina explained.
