KPK Advises BGN: Ensure Free Nutritious Meals Programme is Better Targeted

The Deputy Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Agustina Arumsari, stated that the leadership of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has advised that the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme must be more precisely targeted.

This advice was delivered by KPK leaders during an audience with BGN officials to discuss the results of studies related to the MBG programme on Tuesday, 7 July 2026.

“As the current leadership of the BGN, we certainly want the BGN to improve in the future and for the MBG programme to be better. There were also messages from the KPK leadership to ensure it is more precisely targeted,” Agustina told reporters, as cited on Wednesday, 8 July 2026.

She added that the KPK also advised that the beneficiaries of the MBG programme should be more focused.

“There were several notes and messages from the leadership to ensure that the beneficiaries are more focused and so on. I have noted these, and we will follow up further,” she revealed.

Agustina ensured that all improvements required by the BGN will be fully monitored by the KPK’s Deputy for Prevention and Monitoring.

Furthermore, the BGN has formed a team to follow up on the recommended improvements to prevent corruption, as suggested by the KPK.

“Of course, we believe that the KPK will not simply stop at the documents we submitted. They want to see concrete actions in what we do later. It is not merely about what is written, but about what we will actually implement,” Agustina explained.
