The KPK has detained four people in connection with the sting operation against Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro. One of those detained, Setya Budi Dias Oktavianto, is a KPK administrative staff member and a civil servant seconded from the National Police.

“The individual concerned is an administrative staff member at the Corruption Eradication Commission, seconded from the police institution,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Thursday (30/7/2026).

Budi reminded the public to remain vigilant against extortion schemes, particularly those claiming to be from the KPK. He affirmed that the legal process at the KPK proceeds objectively.

“We emphasise once again that the entire case-handling process carried out by the KPK is conducted objectively based on evidence, and we are also open about every stage of that legal process,” he said.

The KPK has detained four people, as follows:

  • Anom Widiyantoro (AWI), as Regent of Pemalang

  • Mohamad Haris (GHA), as a private party and confidant of the regent

  • Lilik Budi Suprianto (LBS), as a private party

  • Setya Budi Dias Oktavianto (DIS), as a KPK administrative staff member

Anom emerged from the interrogation room at 08.34 WIB on Thursday (30/7). He wore an orange KPK detainee vest with his hands in handcuffs.

The KPK carried out a sting operation against Pemalang Regent Anom Widiyantoro, seizing evidence including Rp 2 billion in cash.

“The team also secured evidence including more than Rp 2 billion in cash, and of course other pieces of evidence were also secured in connection with this arrest,” said KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo at the KPK building in Kuningan, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (29/7).

The sting operation relates to payments received by Regent Anom in connection with projects. Budi said the operation is also linked to alleged corruption involving the buying and selling of official positions.

“The covert investigation conducted by the KPK team is suspected to relate to payments received by the Regent in connection with projects,” said Budi.
