KPI Commissioner: Broadcasting Media as a Space to Realise Women's Justice
KPI Central Commissioner Tulus Santoso, during his visit to RRI Yogyakarta, stated that broadcasting institutions can serve as a medium for women to appear on equal terms with men. “So far, broadcasting spaces have been places for women to create and contribute to the nation,” Tulus said in Yogyakarta on Tuesday (21/4/2026). Tulus observed many remarkable women appearing, either as programme hosts or sources. Indeed, broadcasting media often highlight various gender issues that position women fairly and proportionately. Tulus, who is also the KPI Central commissioner for broadcast content oversight, stated that his institution has not only promoted gender equality issues but also protection for women. “We can see in KPI regulations that women and children are parties who are highly protected in broadcast content supervision,” he concluded.
