KPI Chairman Awarded KWP Award 2026 for Public Broadcasting Ethics Guardian

Chairman of the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) Central, Ubaidillah, has been awarded the title of Public Broadcasting Ethics Guardian at the Coordinatoriat Wartawan Parlemen (KWP Awards) 2026. The award to this policymaker, deemed to possess dedication, integrity, and tangible contributions in carrying out state duties, took place at the Pustakaloka Building, Nusantara IV, Senayan Parliamentary Complex, Jakarta, on Thursday, 16 April.

Ubaidillah stated that this accolade could serve as a trigger and motivator for television and radio broadcasting institutions, as well as society, to more vigorously and robustly maintain broadcasting quality by prioritising ethics.

“This is motivation for all of us, from television, radio, to broadcasting professionals, to become even stronger and more adaptive in improving broadcasting quality by making ethics the foundation of broadcasts. We express our thanks to the organisers; this is for all broadcasting professionals across Indonesia,” he said.

Moreover, according to him, Indonesia is currently striving to realise the Golden Indonesia 2045. This is seen as an opportunity for the man fondly known as Gus Ubaid to contribute to the fullest extent of his abilities.

“We in broadcasting will certainly contribute maximally through the world of broadcasting. Likewise for others according to their respective capacities in their fields. So this momentum serves as a foundation to continue safeguarding the democratic climate in the broadcasting world while also supporting the current presidential administration,” he continued.

It is known that Ubaidillah is not a newcomer to the broadcasting world. He has been involved since 2012 as a monitoring team for broadcasting institutions at KPI Central. From 2014-2016, he was elected as a member of KPI Jakarta Region. Then, in the 2016-2019 period, he became a member of KPI Central and Chairman of KPI Central in the 2022-2025 period.

Several of his works in the broadcasting field have been published in various media. Last year, he released a book titled Media, Broadcasting, and Pesantren. Beyond that, he is also active as a delegate in cross-country broadcasting meetings.
