KPC Arrests Five BPK Officials in Muara Enim Audit Bribery Case
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has conducted a sting operation (OTT) resulting in the arrest of five civil servants (ASN) from the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK). The operation, carried out on Wednesday (10/6/2026), is connected to an alleged bribery case involving the Muara Enim Regency Government in South Sumatra.
KPK Spokesperson Budi Prasetiyo stated that the arrests are linked to a bribe related to the audit of a smart board procurement project by the Muara Enim Regency. “This alleged bribery is connected to BPK’s findings in the procurement, one of which was a smart TV,” Budi said, as quoted from detikcom on Wednesday (10/6/2026).
The KPK noted that the evidence aligns with a previous case that ensnared Muara Enim Regent Edison, in which a bribe of Rp500 million was allegedly given by the regency government to BPK officials. The sting operation was conducted across multiple locations, including Jakarta and South Sumatra.
In response, BPK stated that it respects the legal process being undertaken by the KPK as part of a joint effort to eradicate corruption in Indonesia. The agency pledged to be cooperative and provide necessary data and information in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations. “We will process all employees suspected of involvement in this incident according to applicable provisions, through the Code of Ethics Council (MKKE),” BPK explained in an official statement. The agency also emphasized its systematic integrity management programmes and its commitment to a zero-tolerance policy towards integrity violations.
