The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) has stated that a school’s decision to implement distance learning (PJJ) is an appropriate step to ensure student safety and maintain a conducive learning atmosphere. This response follows the discovery of weapons, narcotics, and pornographic materials at a private school in Pondok Pinang, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta.

KPAI member Diyah Puspitarini said the school’s move to conduct full PJJ for one week, starting Monday (10/8), was a correct measure to guarantee the security of the students during the police investigation process. The South Jakarta Metro Police previously secured evidence including 995 airsoft guns, an air rifle, a firearm, and suspected marijuana from a school warehouse.
