KPAI coordinates with LPSK to protect family of assault victim in Bantul

Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) is coordinating with the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) to protect the family of a boy who became a victim of a fatal beating in Bantul, DI Yogyakarta.

“At present, KPAI is coordinating with LPSK to provide protection for the victim’s family due to indications of stalking and threats,” said KPAI member Diyah Puspitarini when contacted in Jakarta on Friday.

The commission hopes that the police will provide protection for the victim’s family.

KPAI also requested that the police investigate allegations of kidnapping, premeditated murder, including the suspected use of weapons in this violence case.

“There is an element of kidnapping in this case. Then there is an element of premeditated murder, criminal elements, including the use of weapons,” said Diyah Puspitarini.

Previously, a boy with the initials I (16) became a victim of a beating that resulted in his death in Bantul, DI Yogyakarta.

After experiencing the assault, I underwent medical treatment for nearly a week.

However, he ultimately took his last breath.

Initially, on Tuesday night (14/4), I, who was at his home, was suddenly picked up by two people on a motorbike.

The two individuals then took the victim to the back yard of one of the state senior high schools in Bantul.

The victim is then suspected of having been beaten by a group.

The number of perpetrators is believed to be ten people, consisting of adults and minors.

To date, the Bantul Police have named two suspects, namely BLP (18) and YP (21), and detained them.

Police suspect that this assault case is motivated by inter-gang issues.
