JAKARTA — KPAI Commissioner Kawiyan expressed condolences at the passing of Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) Chair Margaret Aliyatul Maimunah on Sunday, 1 March 2026.

Kawiyan described Margaret Aliyatul as an extraordinary and nurturing leader. “I express my deep sorrow at the loss of our leader, who was very wise and caring, with a remarkable vision in child protection,” Kawiyan told Kompas.com on Sunday afternoon.

According to Kawiyan, Margaret passed away at 08:00 Western Indonesian Time at Fatmawati Hospital in Jakarta. He noted that the deceased had been undergoing treatment at Fatmawati Hospital before Ramadhan. “She had been under care since Tuesday, the Tuesday before Ramadhan, at Fatmawati Hospital,” he said.
