The Indonesian government has once again demonstrated its firmness and commitment to Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI). Following intensive cross-country coordination, one PMI from Indramayu Regency, West Java, was successfully repatriated from Muscat, Oman.

The worker, named Karwati bt Dasta Ali, arrived safely at Soekarno-Hatta Airport. She was repatriated via the Muscat–Doha–Jakarta route using Qatar Airways flights QR 1125 and QR 6381, operated jointly with Garuda Indonesia flight GA 901.

The schedule and repatriation details were as outlined in the Indonesian Embassy in Muscat's communiqué number B-00042/Muscat/260219. During the initial process, data manifest discrepancies arose due to schedule changes and a no-show on the previous departure.

However, under the direct instruction of Minister for the Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers Mukhtarudin, coordination was swiftly strengthened between KP2MI's Directorate of Supervision, Prevention and Enforcement; the Indonesian Embassy in Muscat; the Indonesian Embassy in Doha; as well as airlines and agencies in Oman, until a confirmed new schedule was secured.

On Mukhtarudin's orders, the Directorate General of Empowerment, BP3MI Banten, and the Supervision and Prevention Team were tasked with receiving the worker, conducting a case review, and ensuring the repatriation process was carried out safely and with dignity. On this occasion, Mukhtarudin issued a firm statement.

"Every indication of non-procedural deployment must be investigated. We will not tolerate practices that endanger the safety of migrant workers," said Mukhtarudin in a written statement on Sunday (22/2/2026).

"The state is present not only to repatriate, but to ensure accountability," he added.

Upon arrival at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, the worker was immediately directed to the PMI Lounge for a preliminary examination and case review to identify possible administrative or criminal violations, including the role of those who facilitated her departure.

Information from the Indonesian representative in Oman indicated that the worker had been employed in the domestic sector and had experienced problems during her placement.

Through the Indonesian Embassy, the government ensured full assistance up to the point of departure from Muscat, including special coordination during the transit in Doha to guarantee safe passage.

This case reinforces the urgency of oversight of non-procedural recruitment practices that continue to occur in a number of regions. The government will strengthen collaboration across ministries, local governments, law enforcement agencies, and Indonesian representatives abroad to close loopholes for violations.

KP2MI once again urged the public to use official channels and take advantage of government information and complaint services.

The state reaffirmed its commitment: the protection of Indonesian migrant workers is a national priority. There is no compromise on violations. There is no tolerance for illegal practices. And no citizen shall be left to face their problems alone in a foreign land.
