Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection (KP2MI) has imposed an administrative sanction suspending part of PT Ceger Sari Buana’s migrant-worker placement business for three months for breaching placement regulations.

KP2MI Director of Supervision, Prevention and Enforcement, Brigadier General Guritno Wibowo, said the sanction was imposed under Director General of Protection Decree No. 44 of 2026, dated 21 October 2026.

“The enforcement action follows complaints from several prospective Indonesian migrant workers (CPMI) who were unable to depart for Poland and had not received refunds of their placement fees,” he said, as quoted in a KP2MI press release in Jakarta on Monday (26 October).

“During the clarification process, the company committed to resolving the cases of CPMI identified by the initials EM, YH and LDMT, but failed to fulfil that commitment by the stipulated deadline,” Guritno said.

He said the sanction was imposed after the company was found to have failed to protect prospective migrant workers, as required under Article 9(1)(x) of Minister of P2MI/BP2MI Regulation No. 04 of 2025.

KP2MI also identified several other issues, including CPMI records missing from the Indonesian Migrant Worker Protection Computerised System (SISKOP2MI), the company’s inability to produce approved work permits, and a lack of evidence that the prospective workers had attended language classes or been provided with employment social security facilities.

During the sanction period, the company is prohibited from selecting prospective migrant workers anywhere in Indonesia and from processing placement documents for CPMI who have not signed a placement agreement.

“PT Ceger Sari Buana must resolve the cases involving CPMI/PMI and fulfil their rights, draw up a remedial action plan, and report to KP2MI on the implementation of all its obligations,” Guritno said.

Guritno stressed that the sanction was a means of enforcing the rules and ensuring placement companies meet their obligations and protect Indonesian migrant workers’ rights.

“Protecting Indonesian migrant workers must be a priority in every placement process,” Guritno said.
