Koster States Pancasila as Foundation of World Peace

Governor Wayan Koster of Bali led the Pancasila Birth Day ceremony at Puputan Margarana Field, Niti Mandala, Renon, Denpasar. During the event, Koster stated that Pancasila is not only Indonesia’s state ideology but also a foundation for global peace.

“Pancasila as an ideology, as a unifier of the nation, as the foundation of world peace and crucial for Indonesia’s consistency within the global community,” Koster said on Monday, 1 June 2026.

Koster added that the noble values of Pancasila are not only relevant for maintaining Indonesia’s unity but also provide answers for achieving lasting world peace.

“Today’s observance honours our fighters and leaders who established Pancasila’s values in the nation’s life,” Koster explained.

According to Koster, Pancasila also serves as a moral anchor amid global turbulence, from disruptions to geopolitical dynamics. Indonesia, he said, has a constitutional duty to contribute to a world order based on independence, perpetual peace, and social justice.

“Our role in mediating regional conflicts and consistency in advocating justice for colonised nations embodies the second principle of just and civilised humanity. We want the world to see that peace is not merely the absence of war, but the presence of justice for all humanity,” Koster stated.
