Koster Inaugurates 72 Bali Paskibraka Members for 81st Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony
Bali Governor Wayan Koster has inaugurated 72 members of the Provincial Heritage Flag Hoisting Troop (Paskibraka) for the 81st Independence Day ceremony on 17 August 2026. The inauguration took place at the Wiswa Sabha Utama Building, Office of the Governor of Bali, Denpasar, on Saturday (15/8/2026).
“I, the Governor of Bali, hereby inaugurate all of you as members of the 2026 Bali Provincial Paskibraka heritage flag hoisting troop,” said Koster as he inaugurated the entire squad.
Koster expressed hope that their service would prove beneficial to society, the nation, and the state. He congratulated all members on their duties.
“I am extremely pleased. I believe these will become excellent cadres, and I hope they will continue to improve and become the finest sons and daughters of Bali,” Koster said.
The Head of the Ideology, National Insight, and National Character Division of the Bali National Unity and Politics Agency (Bakesbangpol), I Komang Kusuma Edi, said the 72 Paskibraka members had undergone selection from a pool of 90 finalists from all regencies and municipalities across Bali.
According to Edi, 74 students were selected from the 90 for the provincial-level Paskibraka. Two students were then chosen to represent Bali at the national level.
Edi also confirmed that all selected Paskibraka members are guaranteed higher education scholarships. This ensures that the Bali Provincial Government’s ‘one family, one graduate’ programme can be implemented.
“Last night during the reflection and brief messages session, they expressed their aspirations to continue their studies at official schools, while others want to become teachers, doctors, and so on,” Edi explained.
