Koster Inaugurates 5,058 PDIP Officials in Tabanan
Chairman of the Regional Leadership Council (DPD) of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) in Bali, Wayan Koster, inaugurated thousands of officials at the I Ketut Marya Arts Building in Tabanan on Tuesday (24/3/2026). The number inaugurated totals 5,058 people, comprising branch leadership council (DPC) officials, sub-branch leaders (PAC), branches, and sub-branches for the 2025-2030 term.
Koster stated that this inauguration is not merely a party ceremonial. Rather, it is a mandate of struggle and a moral responsibility with full awareness, both in the seen and unseen realms.
“This is a manifestation of service to the people, nation, and state. This party must level up; previously, quantity was key, but now, in addition to numbers, it must be supported by quality,” Koster emphasised.
Koster urged all cadres not to get involved in negative matters, such as corruption, drugs, theft, gambling, drunkenness, and the like. He even called on all cadres to undergo drug tests within the next week.
“I order the DPC chairmen to conduct drug tests for all cadres,” added the man who also serves as Governor of Bali.
Koster also expressed appreciation to the Tabanan cadres, particularly regarding achievements in the 2024 Regional Elections. PDIP obtained 31 out of 40 seats in the Tabanan Regional People’s Representative Council (DPRD).
“I monitor the performance of the party structure and officials in Tabanan. I have nine groups, and none surpasses (no one beats) Tabanan. However, Tabanan indeed has its own artistry and high dynamism. At certain times, it has its own moves—some perform mask dances, baris, up to Teruna Jaya dances,” Koster explained.
Chairman of the Tabanan PDIP DPC, I Komang Gede Sanjaya, added that Tabanan is the bull’s pen in Bali for every political event. According to him, this is a result of collective and cooperative political work.
“We never work alone, but collectively from branches to DPC. And perhaps this is the most solid in Indonesia, and it has been proven,” Sanjaya stated.
For Sanjaya, this event is not just about inaugurating the party structure, but writing history and reinforcing ideology to continue the struggle.
“We remain solid and loyal at the forefront from sub-branches to DPC. This proves loyalty and dedication. In addition, it is warming up the party engines. These engines must be revved; without revving, they won’t run well,” Sanjaya clarified.
