Koster: Immigration services determine Bali's tourism image

Denpasar (ANTARA) - Bali Governor Wayan Koster has stressed that the quality of immigration services is one of the important factors determining the image of Bali’s tourism in the eyes of the world, as foreign tourist visits to the Island of the Gods continue to increase. “If we make a mistake in providing services, it will greatly impact Bali’s tourism,” Koster said while attending a Public Service Bazaar organised by the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office in Denpasar on Saturday. According to Koster, public service is a basic need of the community, so the government is required to be able to provide services that are fast, precise, and adaptive to developments on the ground. He appreciated the initiative of the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office in bringing together various government services in one location as an effort to facilitate public access to public services. With the number of foreign tourist visits continuing to rise and approaching seven million visits, he said the burden of immigration services in Bali is among the highest in Indonesia. Therefore, immigration matters are not only the responsibility of vertical agencies but also require synergy among all stakeholders in Bali. Meanwhile, Head of the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office Setiawan Budi Cahyono said the public service bazaar is a tangible form of the government’s presence in providing services that are easily accessible, transparent, and accountable to the public. He expressed hope that similar activities can be carried out continuously and expanded to other areas in Bali so that more people can obtain easy access to government services. The series of activities also included a clean-up of Kuta Beach and the release of turtle hatchlings as a symbol of commitment to maintaining environmental cleanliness while strengthening Bali’s image as a clean, orderly, and sustainable tourism destination.
