Koster: Immigration services determine Bali's tourism image
Denpasar (ANTARA) - The Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, has asserted that the quality of immigration services is one of the vital factors determining Bali’s tourism image in the eyes of the world, amidst the rising number of international tourist arrivals to the Island of the Gods.
“If we fail in providing services, it will have a significant impact on Balinese tourism,” said Koster while attending the Public Service Bazaar organised by the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office in Denpasar on Saturday.
According to Koster, public service is a primary need of the community; therefore, the government is required to provide services that are fast, accurate, and adaptive to developments on the ground.
He expressed his appreciation for the initiative taken by the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office to bring various government services to a single location as an effort to ease public access to public services.
With the number of foreign tourist arrivals continuously increasing and approaching seven million, he noted that the immigration service workload in Bali is among the highest in Indonesia.
Consequently, immigration matters are not solely the responsibility of vertical agencies but also require synergy from all stakeholders in Bali.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Bali High Prosecutor’s Office, Setiawan Budi Cahyono, stated that the public service bazaar is a tangible manifestation of the government’s presence in providing services that are easily accessible, transparent, and accountable to the public.
He expressed hope that similar activities could be implemented sustainably and expanded to other regions in Bali so that more members of the community can benefit from easier access to government services.
The series of activities also included a Kuta Beach clean-up action and the release of baby sea turtles as a symbol of the commitment to maintaining environmental cleanliness, while simultaneously strengthening Bali’s image as a clean, orderly, and sustainable tourism destination.
