Koster follows up on DPR-minister agreement for Bali infrastructure
Denpasar (ANTARA) - Bali Governor Wayan Koster is following up on the agreement between Commission V of the DPR RI and the central government regarding the acceleration of tourism infrastructure development in Bali. “The Minister of Public Works (PU) and the Minister of Transportation, with support from the Minister of National Development Planning (PPN)/Bappenas, have assured that they will prioritise the infrastructure development proposed by the Bali provincial government in line with the Decision of the Working Meeting of Commission V of the DPR RI,” Koster stated. In a press release from the Bali Provincial Government in Denpasar on Wednesday, Koster conveyed meetings with the three ministries to align concrete actions from the joint agreement with the DPR RI on 8 April 2026. At that time, all parties had signed the agreement to follow up on the acceleration of tourism-supporting infrastructure development in Bali. “The Minister of PU emphasised that in 2026-2027, construction will begin on the Jimbaran Badung underpass road, the parking building at Pura Ulun Danu Batur, the Nusa Ceningan-Nusa Lembongan bridge, the shortcut road at points 11 and 12 Singaraja-Mengwitani, and the continuation of the Embung Unda Klungkung development,” he said. The construction of the Jimbaran Badung underpass itself is intended to reduce congestion in the South Badung area. Meanwhile, the parking building at Pura Ulun Danu Batur aims to reduce congestion on the Singaraja-Batur-Besakih route and the Gianyar-Klungkung-Batur route.
