Koster Chides Regional Leaders Absent from Bung Karno Month Opening

Bali Governor Wayan Koster attended the opening of the 8th Bung Karno Month at Ardha Candra Open Stage, Art Center, Denpasar, on Monday, 1 June 2026. In his speech, Koster began by taking attendance of the regents and mayors present. ‘Buleleng Regent is here — please clap for him. Jembrana Regent, clapping from afar. Karangasem Regent from the eastern tip, clap, Klungkung Regent clap — those closer here,’ he said. Koster then listed regents represented by deputies, such as Bangli, Gianyar, and Tabanan. He then chided Denpasar Mayor and Badung Regent for not attending or sending representatives. ‘The others are unclear,’ Koster added. Koster’s remarks drew laughter and applause from guests and attendees at the event.
