Koster calls for successful foundation of Bali's development plan on 68th anniversary
Bali’s development is carried out using the Planned Universal Development Pattern.
Denpasar (ANTARA) - Bali Governor Wayan Koster has called on the public at the 68th Anniversary of Bali Province to help ensure the success of the 2025-2030 programme as the foundation of the 100-Year Bali Era Baru Future Development Plan.
“With strong determination, I invite all components of Balinese society and the younger generation, let us together implement and make a success of the Bali development programme for the 2025–2030 period in order to build a solid foundation for the success of the 100-Year Bali Era Baru Future Development Plan 2025–2125,” he said.
Koster, during the 68th Anniversary ceremony of Bali Province at Niti Mandala Renon Field, Denpasar, on Friday, said that success in the first five years of the development plan aims to preserve Bali so that it can be enjoyed by future generations from era to era.
“Therefore, I invite all Balinese people and the younger generation whom I am proud of to remain united, harmonious, solid, and move together to realise the hopes and optimism for Bali’s future in the new era,” he said.
The 68th anniversary itself is a reflective moment for the Bali Provincial Government, as Bali Province has been able to undergo a long journey since 1958 until now with various progress and achievements, as well as being able to overcome various development problems and challenges in facing local, national, and global dynamics.
However, Koster does not want this to be merely a moment to remember the historical journey, but rather to reflect on various development achievements, while strengthening determination and commitment in building Bali going forward.
In his first period as Governor of Bali since 2018, Wayan Koster adhered to the vision of Nangun Sat Kerthi Loka Bali which has been outlined in 44 Milestones of Civilisation Marking the Bali Era Baru, which in essence aims to maintain the sanctity and harmony of nature, humans, and Balinese culture.
At the 68th anniversary of Bali Province this year, he raised the theme Suci Lascarya Nusa Wijaya, which means sincere and wholehearted dedication for the glory of Bali.
“This theme carries a noble message that every work, dedication, and service we perform should be based on sincerity of heart, uphold integrity, prioritise the interests of the community above personal or group interests, as well as the spirit of mutual cooperation and responsibility for Nindihin Gumi Bali, realising a new era Bali, a Bali that is quality, superior, competitive, and sustainable both spiritually and physically,” he said.
The development achievement that he believes should be appreciated by the entire community is the successful advocacy of Law Number 15 of 2023 concerning the Province of Bali, which was promulgated on 4 May 2023.
The Bali Province Law contains provisions that recognise the existence of traditional villages, subak, Sat Kerthi, culture, and local wisdom of Bali.
The Bali Province Law now serves as the legal umbrella for the direction and order of Bali’s development as outlined in the 100-Year Bali Era Baru Future Development Plan 2025–2125.
Therefore, in his second term of leadership, the task at hand is to ensure the success of the first five years of the development plan.
“The success of the first momentum of Bali’s development in the next 5 years will be the foundation that determines the success and sustainability of civilisation and the future of Bali’s next generations for up to 100 years, even throughout the ages,” he said.
Bali’s development for the next 100 years is carried out with the vision of maintaining the sanctity and harmony of nature, humans, and Balinese culture based on the local wisdom values of Sat Kerthi, namely the purification and glorification of six sources of welfare and happiness for human life and all life in this universe.
He reminded the public that Bali’s development for the 2025-2030 period is elaborated in six priority areas: first, customs, religion, tradition, arts and culture, and local wisdom; second, health, education, youth and sports, social security, and employment; and third, economic transformation through the Kerthi Bali Economy.
Furthermore, fourth, land, sea, and air infrastructure, as well as transportation; fifth, environment, forestry, and energy; and sixth, digital island and Bali security.
“Bali’s development is carried out using the Planned Universal Development Pattern, namely development that is patterned, comprehensive, planned, directed, and integrated within the unity of one island territory, one pattern, and one governance,” he said.
